Beaufort voters determine new mayor in special election

In unofficial results, Cromer won with 66% of the vote to Sutton’s 33%. Both candidates were running to replace Stephen Murray after Murray resigned in September.Mayor pro tem Mike Mcfee became acting mayor at that time. His term expires this month. In a Facebook post, Cromer said, “Thank you to the voters for putting their trust in me. I won’t let you down.”
