ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Asheville City Council unanimously passed a resolution Tuesday night reaffirming their support for the LGBTQ+ community.
The proclamation includes restates the city’s support for Pride celebrations and drag performances.

“I know we’ve been working towards a resolution of affirming LGBTQ rights for residents in our community for a while now,” council member Kim Roney said. “I appreciate the specific inclusion for our youth and for live performances, including Pride and drag performance.”

The resolution also condemns all hatred and discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community. It opposes all legislation that goes against their rights.
