EVEN THOUGH MANY OFFICES ARE CLOSED TODAY FOR MLK DAY AND THE WEATHER– THERE HAVE STILL BEEN LOTS OF DRIVERS OUT ON THE ROADS. SGT TREVOR LAMBERT WITH THE ARKANSAS NATIONAL GUARD TOLD ME TODAY THEY HAVEN’T SEEN MANY PEOPLE STUCK BUT YESTERDAY WAS A DIFFERENT STORY. <> Truck door closing LAST WEEK GOVERNOR SARAH HUCKABEE SANDERS DECLARED A STATE OF EMERGENCY FOR THE WINTER WEATHER WE RECEIVED THIS WEEKEND. SHE ALSO ACTIVATED THE ARKANSAS NATIONAL GUARD TO HELP SUPPORT STATE POLICE IN ASSISTING PEOPLE WHO GET STUCK. WHILE TODAY IS A LITTLE LESS BUSY FOR THE GUARD…SGT LAMBERT SAYS YESTERDAY THEY HAD OVER 15 REPORTS. ” it was pretty bad. We wish people would have been more safe and conscious about why they needed to be out.” <> “we’re just making sure that if there are any vehicles on the side of the road that we’re checking on them, making sure they’ve got heat, water, food. Have they called the authorities to make sure that if they need a wrecker.
