With the new congress comes new legislation. Senator John Boozman said one of his top priorities this session is helping farmers stay competitive and in business. This comes after that brutal summer heat wave that impacted agriculture across the nation. “This next year we have a farm bill coming up that is so important,” said Boozman. “This provides a safety net to our farmers so we can continue to have the cheapest safest food supply of nation in the world. They need a farm bill with those safety nets so they can go to the bank, and with confidence, borrow money that they need to go forward.”Boozman said he is confident he will be able to work with colleagues from across the isle on other important legislation such as battling inflation and border security.Representative Steve Womack said he is also focusing on those areas as well and also wants to work on legislation to support our national defense and regain energy independence.
