Alexandria City Council moves forward with removing Trayce Snow from GAEDA Board | #citycouncil

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) – The Alexandria City Council has moved forward with the removal of Tracye Snow from the Greater Alexandria Economic Development Authority Board, or GAEDA.

The emergency meeting that was scheduled for Monday, Feb. 19, was canceled and rescheduled to be held at Tuesday night’s regular council meeting.

There was standing room only in the council chambers, as the council voted four to two to remove Snow with one member abstaining. John Callis has been appointed to replace Snow.

On a post to her social media page, Tracye Snow released this statement:

Despite many attempts to contact Councilwoman Felter about this change, she has not responded to any of our messages.

We sent one Sunday, Feb. 18, before the original story aired and a couple more on Wednesday, Feb. 21, after Felter said this regarding the recent changes with her GAEDA appointees: “I have not received one personal phone call, message or email asking me to explain my decision. So my constituents that are concerned have not reached out to me.”

On Thursday, Feb. 22, at 12:00 p.m., the council will reconvene in council chambers to move forward with the removal of board member Candice Cheney.

KALB will be there live during our Midday newscast, bringing you the latest developments on this matter, as we still do not know the reason behind these appointments.
