THWE’E’RE OFF AND DRIVE AND ROCKS AND PLACE ASSESSI THENG DAMAGE BECAUSE THIS IS WHERE PEOPLE WOKE UP TO FLOOD WATERS INSIDE THEIR HOMES AND THEHAY D TO BE RESCUED AS THAT WATER CAME RUSHING INSIDE. THIS IS WHAT LOOKS LIKE INSIDE THE TOWNHOMES ON ROXANN AROUND FOUR THIS MORNING. AND JNSOHON WATER UP TO YOUR WAIST. CARS WERFLE OATING IN THE ROAD. SOME WAITED FOR 2 HOURS TO BE RESCUED. FIREFIGHTERS USED A RAFT TO GET TO PEOPLE LIKE. FOUR YEAR OLD BRIANA ALBRIGHT DAN HER. I WOKE UP AND WAS WATER IN THE FLOOR AND WAS ALL FLOATING. IT A DREAM. IT CAME AND TOOKLA PCE OF THE HOUSE OF THE USHOE. THE HOUSE GOT DAMAGED AND THE CAME FLOATED IN THE I G OUTOT OF BED AND THE WATER WAS UP ON MY SHINS AND WITHIN MINUTES IT WAS OVER MY WAIST. IT WAS VERY SCARY. I WAS JUST THANKFUL THAT SHE WAS UP ON THE TOP OF HER BUNK BED AND HIGH OFFHE T WATER WHILE WE CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET OUT. FLOATING FURNITURE NEARLY TRAPPED THE ALBRIGHT INSIDE THEIR HOME. I’M JUST TRYING TO STAY CALM AS POSSIBLE, BECAUSE THAT’S ALL CAN DO RIGHT NOW. THERE’S ALSTMO NOTHING WORTH SALVAGING RIGHT NOW. SO THE WATER LEVEL THE WATER WAS UPO T YOUR CHEST INSIDE, CLINT COSME HOME. HE WOKE UP WHEN FLOODWATERS CRASHED THROUGH THE DOOR TO THE GARAGE. I HAD TIME TO GRAB THE KIDS AND OUT THE DOORE W WENT. HE HIS SON AND NEPW HEALL WAITED ON TOP OF THEIR TRUCK TO BE RESCUED. AND THEN WE GET OUT HERE, MAKE ITN O TOP OF THE VEHICLES. I DON’T SEE MY CAR. WE LOOK WE LKOO ACROSS OVER HERE AND IT’S JUST LIKE BACK AND UP IN THE AIR. ALL OF THE VEHICLES IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD LOOK LIKE JAYDEN PRUITT’CARS FILLED WITH MUD AND WATER. IT’S NOT ANY INSIDE HOMES, MUD, COS,AT EVERYTHING. WHEN IT MES COTO PERSONAL BELONGINGS, LIKE FURNITURE AND CLHEOTS TOTALED, I AN,ME NOTHING. NOTHING SALVAGEABLE. FOR COMBS, THIS FAMILY PHOTO ON THE WALL IS ABOUT THE ONLY THING TNO DESTROYED. THE REST IS IN THE BACOFK HIS SUV. PHYSICALLY. OKAY. THIS IS GOING TO HURT. YEAH. EVERYONE’S SAFE. Government officials in Washington County, Arkansas have sent a disaster proclamation to the governor’s office, John Luther, county emergency manager, told 40/29 News.The proclamation was issued because of widespread damage from floodwaters. Crews performed more than 30 water rescues in Washington County between 2:30 a.m. and midday, Luther said.Related video above >> Arkansas girl tells story of flood survival Crews used boats to safely transport people from their front doors to higher grounds after storms brought flash flooding to Johnson and Fayetteville.Gene McCartney, acting mayor of Tontitown, made an emergency declaration for his city.”Throughout the week of May 2, 2022, a series of thunderstorms caused significant rain and floodwaters in the City of Tontitown causing damage to private property and public infrastructure throughout the city in addition to creating flood dangerous conditions which continue to threaten the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Tontitown and the general public,” the Tontitown declaration states. The declaration means the mayor has powers to order recovery measures. That includes suspending provisions of local ordinances and regulations if doing so would help the city cope with the disaster.McCartney has served as interim mayor since former mayor Paul Colvin resigned in December 2021. Colvin did not publicly state a reason for his resignation.

“Throughout the week of May 2, 2022, a series of thunderstorms caused significant rain and floodwaters in the City of Tontitown causing damage to private property and public infrastructure throughout the city in addition to creating flood dangerous conditions which continue to threaten the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Tontitown and the general public,” the Tontitown declaration states.
