Votes for the Shenandoah City Council and mayor election will officially be canvassed during a special meeting set for May 18.

The Shenandoah City Council unanimously agreed to hold the meeting during a May 11 meeting, which will finalize the results from the May 7 election.

Shenandoah Administrator Kathie Reyer said the certified election results from Montgomery County would not be available until May 17 prior to council’s next meeting.

“We have a small window to canvass the votes,” Reyer said.

Council Member Ron Raymaker and Mayor-elect John Escoto will be sworn in during council’s May 25 meeting following the results being canvassed.
