The Kalispell City Council decided unanimously Monday to give the go-ahead that allows for construction of the Quail Meadows subdivision.
The subdivision, located at 155 Tronstad Road by U.S. 93, will consist of 39 single-family homes on 10 acres.
The development was initially approved in April, contingent on 31 infrastructure conditions being met by developer Quail Meadows, LLC. Following a recommendation by Kalispell Senior Planner P.J. Sorensen and a short discussion featuring a few public questions regarding traffic impact and lighting, Council felt satisfied that the conditions had been met and moved quickly to finalize approval of the subdivision.
Council also unanimously voted to move forward with a hearing weighing an amendment to another housing project, the Starling subdivision located on the west side of Stillwater Road to the west of Timberwolf Parkway. The developer, Kilday & Stratton, is requesting an amendment to increase the number of multi-family housing units on one of the lots from 36 to 48.
Also included in the amendment was a change to the driveway access for six units in the second phase of the development. The hearing to consider the amendment was set for Nov. 7.
The final item on the council’s agenda was approving Mayor Mark Johnson’s re-appointment to the Flathead County Solid Waste District Board. Johnson nominated himself, joking that he “loves” dealing with garbage. His appointment was unanimously approved by Council.
