Five qualify for District 5 city council seat | News | #citycouncil

Five candidates have qualified for the November 8 special election to fill the unexpired term of the late District 5 Alderman Richard “Boo” Mullins Jr. on Milledgeville City Council.

The candidates include three men and two women.

Mullins, a retired captain with Baldwin County Fire Rescue, died earlier this year. He had served on Milledgeville City Council for more than 20 years.

Bo Danuser, longtime city clerk, officially qualified each of the candidates seeking to become the new city alder member this week.

The slate of candidates include:

  • Oscar Davis Jr.
  • Nicholas Rayshad Bolston
  • Benjamin Lewis
  • Shonya Arlicia Mapp
  • Jessica “Jess” Diane McQuain

In coming days, each of the candidates will be interviewed about the reasons they want to hold public office and serve on Milledgeville City Council. Those stories will begin appearing next week in The Union-Recorder.
